Give me freedom，elbow room．The expression was coined in a poem written by Bob Fletcher，a Westerner．Cole Porter bought the rights to the poem，revised the lyrics，and wrote music for the song“Don’t Fence Me In，”which originally appeared in the film Hollywood Canteen(1944)．Ironically，Porter was crippled in a riding accident．
